How about watering and maintaining humidity in Module?
Water is put into the Module by using a syringe. You can pierce the white plug with it so you do not have to open the Module and to risk ants escaping. The cork absorbs the water and in the nest holds a constant moisture for a long time. If the ants chopped up all the cork, it is good to add another cork module, or at least maintain sufficient moisture and amount of water in the arena.

How strong is the magnets connestion? Is there any risk in manipulating Modules?
These are special neodymium magnets where each of the two magnets has a tearing force of 13.9 N. In other words, each magnet holds a pull of 1.39 kg, so the whole connection (2 magnets) will carry 2.78 kg, for example, it is more than 2.5 boxes of milk. In practice, this means that one whole Module can only be held in the air by a magnetic link without any further support. However, for easier handling of larger assemblies, we recommend a solid surface or mat on which you will have your formicarium in long period.

For how big or small species is your formicarium suitable?
Simply, the largest species tested is Camponotus herculeanus (Giant Ant) and the smallest of them is Lasius niger (Common Ant). The limiting factor in size is the hole diameter (6 mm), therefore not suitable for species like Atta or other large exotic species.

For how big or small species is your formicarium suitable?
Simply, the largest species tested is Camponotus ligniperda (Carpenter Ant) and the smallest of them is Lasius niger (Common Ant). The limiting factor in size is the hole diameter (6 mm), therefore not suitable for species like Atta or other large exotic species. In case of extremly small species the risk of escaping can not be excluded.

How to properly water your formicarium?

Firstly, it depends on the species of ant you are keeping. For example, Camponotus sp. prefer a drier nest. Lasius sp. and others like higher humidity.
Our formicarium can be watered very simply, it is enough to pour a certain amount of water into the chamfered corner. Thanks to the natural cork the water is within 20 min. stretches into a nest and cork keeps moisture for a long time. Another advantage is that according to the color of the cork, you can see which places are damp and dry, and at the same time observe in which parts nests your colony is settling. Depending on this, you can pick up the interval and amount of water. As the humidity increases, there is also a growing risk of mold, which must also be remembered.
Some users also use, for example, a dish sponge or other absorbent material, filling the chamfered corner for easier maintaining level of humidity. This is especially useful if they have a nest built in vertical direction, but it also increases the stability of the moisture in the nest – you do not have to fill water often.
